When mistakes are made with the type of car seat, installation and when buckling up the child, this can result in severe injury or death during a crash. However when children use an appropriate type of car seat, with it correctly installed and the child buckled properly, infants are 71% safer, toddlers are 54% safer and children riding in booster seats are 59% safer.
